Our History
Located in Hamilton New Zealand, the seed of The Effect was planted in 1991 as a two-staff learning and development enterprise called Effective Training Company.
By 2000 the team had grown to include facilitator and ex-CEO Annette Ryan. As Annette spent the next few years building on her business and facilitation experience with advanced study overseas, a new focus on emotional intelligence and behavioural change to get results bloomed.
The company underwent a change of ownership and name in 2004, becoming Effective4, with the driving purpose of bringing specialised emotional intelligence tools from overseas to Australasia.
In 2006 Annette Ryan became the sole director and The Effect was born, alive and kicking with Annette's lifelong passion for unlocking the potential inside people and giving them the practical knowledge and tools to be effective, productive, and successful in work - and life.
Now with a whole team of like-minded staff, The Effect positioned itself as a professional and organisational development company specialising in emotional intelligence, with a suite of research-validated tools and methods to get real results in behaviour and long-lasting traction in the workplace.
In 2008 The Effect found its home - a beautiful art deco style house with the potential to accommodate and grow with the evolving needs of the business.
